Events must be open to the public, with or without admission fees. Historic Hudson River Towns reserves the right to reject any event that is considered inappropriate for any reason. Five Hudson Valley High School Teams Prepare to Put STEM Skills to Test at Hudson Valley Regional FIRST® Robotics Competition. Students from Carmel, Ossining, New Rochelle, Clarkstown and Yonkers have spent the last six weeks conceptualizing, designing, building, programming, and testing their robots to meet the HVR FRC’s engineering tour de force taking place from March 25 – 26th at Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY.

TACONIC OPERA: World Premiere (Ossining & White Plains) of New Oratorio - DAVID

Currently in its 19th season and recipient of the ArtsWestchester Arts Organization of the Year Award, Taconic Opera will be performing the world premiere performance of the oratorio David on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Ossining United Methodist Church, 1 Emwilton Place/corner of Route 9, Ossining, NY, and on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at 3:00 pm at the White Plains Presbyterian Church, 39 North Broadway, White Plains, NY. Based on the widely known biblical hero King David, the famous slayer of Goliath the Philistine giant, the work was composed and will be conducted by the company’s General and Artistic Director, Dan Montez. The performance features four of the company’s principal opera singers, the Taconic Opera chorus, and full orchestra.

At the age of fifteen, Peter achieved international fame as “Herman,” lead singer of the legendary pop band Herman’s Hermits. His classic hits include: “I’m Into Something Good”, “Mrs. Brown, you’ve Got a Lovely Daughter”, “I’m Henry VIII”, “Silhouettes”, and “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat”. Prior to founding River Journal Robert Bonvento worked professionally on both coasts in theatre, television and film as an actor and writer. On Sunday, March 26th at 2 pm he will be performing a benefit performance of, "Aging - a Bad Rap©." The performance reflects on the lives of ten people ranging in age from 6 to 103 years old. “Aging - a Bad Rap©” melds the spoken word with music, dance, photography and videography. It is a show about the perceptions and realities of growing older. It is touching and comedic. It is significant and unpredictable. Tickets on sale now!
