Events must be open to the public, with or without admission fees. Historic Hudson River Towns reserves the right to reject any event that is considered inappropriate for any reason. Please allow up to 24 hours after submission for event to be listed.

Melissa Etheridge stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, which led to an appearance on the 1989 Grammy Awards show. For several years, her popularity grew around such memorable originals as “Bring Me Some Water,” “No Souvenirs,” and “Ain’t It Heavy,” for which she won a Grammy in 1992. “Come to My Window,” a searing song of longing from her fourth album, Yes I Am (1993), brought Etheridge her second Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Performance.

Historical Society of Nyack Oak Hill Cemetery Walking Tour

Walk scenic Oak Hill Cemetery & celebrate the lives of many “permanent residents” of the Nyacks who made their mark on the national, state, and local stages. Actress Helen Hayes, playwrights Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur, artist Edward Hopper, author Carson McCullers and some of the earliest settlers of the Nyacks are buried here. We’ll meet at the cemetery entrance gate, Route 9W, between Sickles Avenue and 5th Avenue.

Sunflower Art Studios in Gardiner is offering “Creative Kids” 5-week After School Art Program starting May 2nd. The Kindergarten through 2nd Grade Group meets Tuesdays from 4:20 to 6:00 pm May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2017. The Art Program will introduce children to a variety of mediums and creative techniques as well as learning about the different styles of well-known artists. All supplies included.
