Events must be open to the public, with or without admission fees. Historic Hudson River Towns reserves the right to reject any event that is considered inappropriate for any reason. Please allow up to 24 hours after submission for event to be listed.

Historical Society of Nyack Upper Nyack Walking Tour

This tour begins across from “Pretty Penny” the former residence of Helen Hayes and Charles MacArthur and proceeds north on Broadway past a string of remarkably detailed Victorian mansions, a fire company, and sites of early shipbuilding and commerce. We’ll meet at the NW corner of N. Broadway and 6th Avenue.

Beatles Vs. Stones - A Musical Showdown

The two greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time face off as the Paramount Theater hosts the nationally touring show, Beatles Vs. Stones- A Musical Showdown. Taking the side of the Fab Four is Abbey Road, one of the country’s top Beatles tribute bands. With brilliant musicianship and authentic costumes and gear, Abbey Road plays beloved songs spanning the Beatles’ career. They engage in a musical “showdown” of the hits against premier Stones tribute band Satisfaction- The International Rolling Stones Show, who offer a faithful rendition of the music and style of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the bad boys of the British Invasion. Beatles Vs. Stones performed a three month residency at the Harrah’s Reno showroom and a two month residency at the Harrah’s Laughlin showroom.

Street Fair

The Nyack Famous Street Fair will be held from 10 to 5 downtown Main Street and Broadway and is held rain or shine. This exciting event is a great way to spend a spring day shopping amongst the over three hundred vendors from five states lining downtown Nyack. The fair features booths bursting with arts and crafts, a great selection of retail items, collectibles, home décor and commercial vendors. The whole family will have fun shopping at this unique street fair. The kid’s will be entertained at the “Kid’s Zone” showing a variety of inflatables set up by “A Total Jump” in the Main Street parking lot. To top it off all types of delicious festival foods will be available as well Nyack’s restaurants and outdoor cafes offering “Fair Specials”.

Tim Kubart and The Space Cadets

Two Showtimes: 1:00pm & 4:00pm Tim Kubart is bringing an indie pop dance party for all ages to the Paramount! Joined on stage by his band, the Space Cadets, Tim performs songs celebrating real life family moments and milestones. Together, Tim Kubart and the Space Cadets put on a highly interactive and musically rich show that always speaks to kids at top of their intelligence. Tim discovered his passion for making music for kids and families while volunteering in the nursery of an NYC homeless shelter during college. Tim went on to perform full scale productions on national stages and theaters, leading him to be named “the kindie scene’s breakout star” by New York Family.

The Mover’s earned a Daytime Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for outstanding original song in the children’s show/animation category. The Mover’s are known as a high-energy, interactive live music art. Over the last decade they have entertained more than a million fans in North America, Europe and Asia.

After more than a decade touring with RCA Records band From Good Homes, sharing the stage with Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, Rymer’s career in children’s music grew along with his family. He assembled a kickin’ band of friends, outstanding players all, with backgrounds from Americana to Zydeco-and two kids, eight CDs, and three Grammy nominations later, his music has been called joyous, genius, melodic gift for anyone with a rock and roll soul,” and his band “might just be the best sounding band in children’s music,” according to NPR’s All Things Considered.

[Two Showtimes: 1:00pm & 4:00pm] Ralph’s World is coming to the Paramount Theater! Ralph’s World is the mega-fun musical planet where kids rock and dance to their own and their parents’ delight. It’s the creation of Ralph Covert: indie rocker, songwriter, playwright, and children’s book author. His McCartney-esque style has won him hundreds of thousands of three-feet-and-under fans and their parents. Ralph and his band lead the audience through a rocking set of dancing, singing, and good old-fashioned fun. Covert engages his young fans with activity songs, story songs, dancing songs, and a healthy dose of pure silliness. Covert has produced nine albums of Ralph’s World music plus the award-winning Say Hello DVD.
