Spring is coming, right?

Springtime daffodils at Sunnyside

Spring is such a wonderful time in the Hudson Valley!  I just wish it would get here!  I see daffodil spears shooting up -- when will they open up into those bright yellow blooms that mean spring has arrived?  Soon we should be seeing that yellow-green mist on the trees that means they are about to leaf out.  I'm so tired of the drab grey-browns of winter and oh so ready for green to come again.  Mariners are starting to get their boats back in the water -- a sure sign of spring that is full of promise for great river explorations in the warm weather season ahead.  Plans are afoot in the river towns for great events this year, such as the Ossining Bi-centennial celebrations that will draw visitors down to the riverfront.  Stay tuned!
