Concerts and Performances: ​The 2022 Minnie Untermyer Concert Series

The Untermyer Gardens Conservancy announces its second annual Minnie Untermyer Concert Series. Taking place from May 28 to September 4, 2022 in the amphitheater in the magnificent Walled Garden and overlooking the length of this monumental Indo-Persian space, eleven concerts have been scheduled. There will be classical orchestral and vocal music, as well as three dance performances. Popular offerings will include both jazz and American songbook. A gospel choir from Brooklyn will be featured, as well as Indian and Persian fare.

Enjoy the Athenians in a superb vocal performance featuring the best of opera, Broadway and the Great American Songbook. Seen at top venues and events in New York City including Carnegie Hall, there will even be an appearance by a ballet dancer!

In case of inclement weather, the performance will move indoors to the Community Room of the Cola Center at Untermyer Park and Gardens.

A longstanding favorite at Untermyer Gardens, the Yonkers-based quartet comprised of Victor LaGamma-piano, Dylan LaGamma-bass, Jon Doty-Drums, and Matt Garrison-sax, performs artistic and popular favorites of the jazz idiom, with butterflies ascending and descending in the late summer splendor of the garden.

The world famous Isadora Dancers performed at Untermyer Gardens in 1922 and 1932. Experience groundbreaking modern dance of the early twentieth century set to beautiful classical music at this historic setting.
