Open Streets Tarrytown: Local History
July 15, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
freeWant to learn more about Tarrytown history?
Come see historic photos of our Main Street. Listen to stories from the Historical Society about Tarrytown legends like Amanda Foster, the African American entrepreneur who founded Foster AME Zion Church and William Wallace, the candy manufacturer who built Tarrytown Music Hall. Learn about the history of our heroic first responders in the Police Department, Fire Department and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Check out vintage cars, and answer all the questions in the Historical Society’s trivia challenge to win a prize from Goldeberg’s Hardware or Trilogy Consignment.
Want to help make Tarrytown history? Record a story of your family or your experience in Tarrytown to be archived in the Historical Society. Reach out to Jenifer Ross, the event coordinator o just show up at the tent in front of the Tarrytown mural on Kaldenberg: jenifer@watercoolerhub.com.
Or just come down to shop, dine or stroll. See you there!
