Organizations in Historic Hudson River Towns member communities are welcome to post events here free of charge. Events must be open to the public, with or without admission fees. Historic Hudson River Towns reserves the right to reject any event that is considered inappropriate for any reason. Please allow up to 24 hours after submission for event to be listed.

Salsa with Chico Alvarez and Mafimba! Wednesday 4/26 6pm/8pm

April’s Latin Lounge will showcase the return of salsa big band with Chico
Alvares & Mafimba!
We have two dinner seatings upstairs with the concert:
Doors open at 5pm first come first served
6pm (arrive by 5:30) and 8pm (arrive by 7:45)
Please arrive promptly. Seating is first come first served. Roost will be
offering a delicious seasonal menu with the concert ($25 minimum per person
at tables)
We recommend purchasing tickets at least 48 hours in advance.
Children 12 and under are free admission
Entrance to the concert is through the door on the LEFT
NOTE: Concerts take place on the second floor. Roost and Union Arts Center
are located in a one-hundred-year-old restored firehouse without an
elevator.

Ernesto “Chico” Álvarez Peraza is a Cuban North American artist of Latin
American music. He was born in New York City but grew up in Cuba and
currently lives in the state of New Jersey. Álvarez has been performing as
a singer throughout the New York City tri-state area since the 1980s. He
currently performs with the Afro-Cuban band Mafimba and is also the host of
a Latin jazz radio show on Sunday afternoons at WBAI Pacifica Radio (99.5
FM) called the New World Gallery. Alvarez is also a graphic artist and has
designed album covers for various Latin music labels over the years.
Alvarez is the recipient of an award from the National Federation of
Community Broadcasters and has interviewed famous artists such as Dizzy
Gillespie and Tito Puente.
