TACONIC OPERA – Two Piano Concertos: Ravel’s G Major plus a World Premiere, May 11 Matinee in Tarrytown

Currently celebrating its 26th Season and past recipient of the ArtsWestchester Organization of the Year Award, Taconic Opera invites you to enjoy two piano concertos in one concert: Maurice Ravel’s famous Piano Concerto in G Major, written after the composer had been exposed to jazz on a US visit, and the world premiere of Dan Montez’s Piano Concerto in C Minor.
Both pieces will be performed by rising star, Kessa Mefford, who recently made her debut at Carnegie Hall with an All-Ravel concert. Ms. Mefford, an award-winning pianist who specializes in the works of the composer, will perform both concertos on a concert grand, along with the full Taconic Opera Orchestra conducted by the company’s Musical Director, Jun Nakabayashi.
