PlantFest Celebration Returns to Teatown
The most anticipated local event of the spring gardening season — Teatown’s PlantFest — returns this year on May 6 and 7, just in time for Mother’s Day. A serious gardener’s “Farmers Market,” PlantFest offers green thumbs of all levels the opportunity to peruse and purchase from an abundant inventory of unusual native plants, annuals, perennials, herbs, organic vegetables, shrubs, and more. And, after two years of COVID absence, Teatown welcomes the return of more than a dozen specialty vendors with “Market at PlantFest.” (Complete vendor list below)
Opening Day “First Pick” will kick off on Friday, May 6 from 3pm –7pm. Admission for “First Pick” is $25/person (tickets are available online or at the gate) with live music from Rip and The Sleepy Hollow Boys, and wine, local craft beer, hard cider, and food to enjoy while shopping. For those who may miss the first day (or want to return for a second round), PlantFest continues on Saturday, May 7, 9am – 2pm with free admission. Two food trucks will be on site Saturday serving wood-fired pizza from The Hudson Oven and barbeque fare from Three Little Pigs. Free parking during both days.
Get a jump on PlantFest shopping and visit Teatown’s PlantFest online eStore, available from April 6 to April 28 at www.teatown.org/estore-2022/. Limited editions of unusual plant varieties and collections are ideal for those budding botanists who are planning ahead! Curbside pick-ups available during PlantFest.
