Organizations in Historic Hudson River Towns member communities are welcome to post events here free of charge. Events must be open to the public, with or without admission fees. Historic Hudson River Towns reserves the right to reject any event that is considered inappropriate for any reason. Please allow up to 24 hours after submission for event to be listed.

Winter Hiking 101

West Mountain Guide Co will be in the shop to teach us how to enjoy the trails and stay safe in the colder months. Topics cover proper layering and gear considerations, as well as nutrition to get the most out of winter hiking.
Co-founders, Lauren (trail name Woodchuck) and Henri (trail name Rooster) de la Vega are licensed New York State Outdoor Guides and long-distance backpackers. Together, they have hiked the Appalachian Trail (2016), Pacific Crest Trail (2017), and the Continental Divide Trail (2021), with Henri also completing the Florida Trail (2022). The 15,000 miles of thru-hiking they’ve experienced has fueled their desire to help others experience the backcountry.
